Selling a home in The Astons

Aston Tirrold and Aston Upthorpe are a pair of small, closely linked twin villages nestled at the foot of the Berkshire Downs, about 4.5 miles from Wallingford.

Aston Tirrold is the larger of the two, Its name blends Old English "Aston" (east town) with "Tirrold," after a medieval manor holder named Torald. The village church, St Michael and All Angels, is a Grade Two listed building, an 11th-century Norman south doorway, later Perpendicular Gothic additions, and a Victorian restoration in 1863 that added the north aisle. There's also a handsome Georgian former Presbyterian chapel dating to 1728.
