Selling a home in Berrick Salome & Roke & Rokemarsh

These three small settlements sit together as one civil parish around three miles north of Wallingford. Roke and Rokemarsh were historically tangled up with neighbouring Benson parish until boundary changes in 1992–93 brought them fully into Berrick Salome, today the area has the feel of a single, quiet rural community spread across a handful of lanes.

Berrick Salome Together with its enclave, Berrick Prior takes its name from the Old English "berewic," meaning barley farm, combined with the surname Sulham. Like much of this part of South Oxfordshire, the village saw more development once the M40 opened through the area in the early 1970s, bringing London within about an hour's drive.

Roke is the smaller of the two satellite hamlets, known locally for hosting the annual Rokefest beer and music festival, a modest but well-loved community event.

Rokemarsh, the third hamlet, grew up around a crossroads and historically sat just outside the old Berrick parish boundary.

With over 25 years’ experience in the area Winterbrook approaches each sale in these villages with a focus on clarity, careful presentation and targeted exposure, ensuring properties are introduced to the right audience rather than simply listed widely.
