The Home Information packs will "go live" on 1st June 2007.

Housing Minister Yvette Cooper has confirmed that the government still intends to launch the new home sellers' packs on the scheduled date. The National Association of Estate Agents, the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Law Society and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors are all seeking to persuade the government to delay the implementation date.

The government has proposed that from the launch date, properties will be able to be marketed without searches or leasehold documents for a six month transitional period, provided that a HIP provider states that those documents have been requested.
