According to local independent estate & letting agents Lesters, demand for rental property in and around Wallingford is currently at record levels.

'Many first time buyers are choosing to go for the more flexible option of renting at the moment, realising that the property market is not going to leave them behind,' says Donna Gordon, Lettings Manager at Lesters.

'Many are seeing rental property as a good way of keeping their options open, perhaps giving themselves a six or twelve month period to find the homes of their dreams to buy,' she says.

With the stability of property prices, Lesters have seen a marked upturn in the numbers of people renting homes.

Donna continues: 'Unaccredited agents still present a potential problem to landlords and tenants who are vulnerable to low levels of service, untrained staff and very little government regulation.
