Oxfordshire Estate Agent Lesters, have taken the lead in the region's property market by dropping the time clause from its agency agreements with house sellers. The clause that states the minimum period of time you must leave your business with an agent can often cause house sellers serious dilemmas and stress. Lesters realise that moving house is stressful enough, so it has removed that clause from its terms of business which are endorsed by the National Association of Estate Agents.
James Gesner M.N.A.E.A partner at the Wallingford office explains, 'If you sign an agreement which ties you to one estate agency for a period of up to six months, what happens if the agent fails to provide the service they promised? Nothing, you're stuck with them for the entire period! House sellers cannot afford the time, expense and stress of such a dilemma. 'Most house sellers don't read the terms and conditions and spot restrictive clauses, either because they are pressured by an agent stood on their doorstep, or because agreements are just too complicated'. At Lesters our terms of business are straight forward simple to understand, endorsed by the National Association of Estate Agents and contain no minimum period of time.
James continues 'This is a simple business that just requires hard work and professionalism to achieve results. Any firm not willing to operate on simple terms of business clearly isn't confident in their own ability to achieve results and ultimately a satisfied customer. We are an established local business, staffed by a team of local hand-picked, highly experienced estate agents who understand how to succeed in today's market.'
'Lesters offer open and honest advice from day one. We keep our clients informed with genuine feedback, give advice on general market trends and explain what to do to in order to enhance the sale or their property. All of that without the need to tie our clients into unfair agreements that can cause unnecessary anxiety and stress.'
Lesters are proactive members of the National Association of Estate Agents and The Ombudsman of Estate Agents' with the full endorsement of the Office of Fair Trading. Their office's are at 23 St. Martins Street, Wallingford OX10 0AL, or telephone 01491 824000.
