Olympic Flame Passes Wallingford’s Main Streets

Date Published 10 July 2012

Everyone was up early today as the town became a frenzy of activity past as the torch came up St Marys Street and St. Martin's Street in Wallingford. A fantastic crowd gathered sheltering from the rain which didn't dampen the spirits of locals from town and the surrounding villages.

With school children lining the route most of the schools in the area were starting later at 10am so that everyone got the opportunity to see the flame go past. Right in front of the Lesters Wallingford office the torch was changed between Raymond Blanc and David Earle (as pictured) as we were all in a fantastic spot to witness this ‘once in a lifetime' opportunity.

Looking forward to the event in 17 days time!
